95 xlt
I just pulled the codes on my 95 xlt 4.0l and got KOEO code 335 and 332. It seems that the remedy would be a new egr but before I spend the $40 I want to see if anyone has a different suggestion.
Code 335 - exhaust pressure transducer sensor voltage out of range
Code 332 - egr flow inssufficient
I have a intermintent CEL and gas mileage is down to around 13 even on the highway. Thanks!

If the 95 had a DPFE... it is likely that, instead of the actual EGR valve itself.

DPFE? Not familiar with that part, what is it?

From the FORD truck manual for 1995:

Pressure Feedback Electronic EGR/ Differential Pressure Deedback EGR (PFE/DPFE) Systems

PFE is a subsonic closed loop EGR system that controls EGR flow rate by monitoring the pressure drop across a remotely located sharp-edged orifice. The system uses a pressure transducer as the feedback device and controlled pressure is varied by valve modulation using vacuum output of the EGR Electronic Vacuum Regulator (EVR) solenoid (9J459). With a PFE system (Figure 1), the EGR valve serves only as a pressure regulator rather than a flow metering device. The Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic EGR (DPFE) system (Figure 2) operates in the same manner except it directly monitors the pressure drop across the metering orifice. This allows for a more accurate assessment of EGR flow requirements.

In short the DPFE is the sensor that is used to open and close the EGR. Generally there will be a vacuum line from the EGR to another little box like device nearby. THAT is the DPFE.

I am thinking the 95 used DPFE, but am not certain.

When a DPFE system is throwing a code, a majority of the time it is the DPFE and NOT the EGR valve. Unfortunately the DPFE is the more expensive of the two.
