My Explorer has been harder and harder to start, especially on Mondays. After a week of vacation it will not start. Battery if fine and fully charged; fuel pressure at 38 PSI checks out. Two probs I have are:
1. It is getting spark, but for 2/3 coils it is not a steady spark; almost appears random. I would expect a constant spark.
2. My code scanner tool cannot read any codes or perform any test. All fuses and relays checked out.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Bill.

Are you using the plug under the drivers dash, or the one in the engine compartment?

OBD I systems use the one under the hood.

The OBD-II connector under the dash is a dummy. '95s were still OBD-I and you can use the jumper method to check for faults. Seems like the coil is the problem.
