1995 Explorer XLT
Ok I just bought a Ford Explorer XLT 1995. It has 199,000 Miles on it but it drives good and didn't pay much for it. Well I'm wanting to fix a couple problems and would be pleased if I could get some answers.

First. The two back doors will not open from the inside, but they open from the outside. I have checked the Child Safety Feature and it is off and still no luck, I'm guessing I'm going to have to take the door panel off and something is not connected or broken.

Second. The Driver and Passenger windows will not roll down. The driver window you can hear the motor it sounds good and everything my guess its off track I haven't had time to take the panel off to check but thats just my guess if anyone knows more about that problem please let me know if you believe that is what it could be and what all I will need and what I will need to do to fix it. Now the passenger side don't even make a sound so I believe it could be a dead motor in the door or the wires are not connected somewhere.

I do believe thats all the problems I have found so far from over looking it again and again. It drives smooth and great 2WD 4WD Auto and 4WD all work flawlessly. I read a lot of the reviews and seems that all the explorers are great at running well over 200,000 Miles if well kept.

Thank you all for any help! :)

do a search on window motor repair. there is a thread on here with step by step picture instructions on how to repair the motor. Most likely it is the little plasic bullets inside of the motor. cost for the repair is about $3 a motor.

the door handle is broken on the inside. I went to a junkyard and found two that worked, popped them out and put them in the truck. it cost about $5 a peice.

ok so far I have the door handles fixed * Thanks to your information. The driver window the track bar that was attached to the window was detached from the other track bars. and wasn't attached to the window... So I used some very strong JB Weld just to get it over with and make it work will see if it did the trick tomorrow around 8:00 AM :)... Next is the passenger window most likely will have to replace the motor..
