Hello All. This Sure Is A Great Site. This Is My 1st Post So Please Bear With Me. I Have A Nice Old 95 Explorer Xlt With 178,ooo Miles And It Runs Like Brand New On The Highway. Trouble Is, When I Drive It For A Few Miles, Especially In The Summertime, Park It For Say 15 Minutes, Then Start It Up, I Has A Terrible , I Mean Terrible Rough Idle Till I Rev It Up For A Few Seconds.no Smoke Or Bad Smells. It Only Does This On A Hot Start. Any Help From You All Is Greatly Appreciated, thanks.

welcome big jack

I have the same exact idle problem with my ex, I know that my throttle body could use a cleaning, when I have the intake off I can see into the throttle body and its nasty and black I guess with carbon deposits, the truck is also the slowest vehicle I have ever owned, I almost got beat by a nissan sentra one night when I was trying to pass him,, I had to cut him off so he couldnt get ahead. Ha haa. Anyway, the truck runs great, has new cats and fuel pump, tune up and filters, its pretty much the same truck as Big Jack's but with 140k on it. My question is, how do you clean the throttle body safely. I heard that there is a coating on the inside of the plenum and t-body that can be eaten off by gumout, is that true? If so, what should I use to clean it? Am I better off running that seafoam stuff through it?------Jack

Ok, I will pick some up tomorrow and try it out---Jack
