- 95 XLT Control Trac
Hi all,
Been browsing the website for about a week now. Looks good and provided lots of helpful tips and knowhow, but I couldn't find the answers to all my questions.
I just recently purchased a used 1995 Explorer Control Trac 4WD. I love the vehicle, but it has a few problems. Nothing major, but they would all be nice to be able to fix.
Neither of the power mirrors work. I don't know if it is because the driver side mirror is broken (and taped on), somehow causing both mirrors to quit functioning, or it its something in the electrical. The fuse is good, so I'm not sure what next to check.
Neither the keyless entry or the key remotes work in the vehicle. I tested the batteries in the key fobs and they are good, but won't lock or unlock. I tried going into the program mode but it never cycles the door locks, and the keypad on the door doesn't work with the stock code, nor will lock the doors holding 7/8. I'm thinking this means the RAP module is bad? If I can find one at a junkyard should this fix my problem? I don't really have the money or desire to buy a new one.
The bigger section of the back seat (passengers side) won't fold down. I hit the lever and push and it feels like it is jammed somewhere in the middle of the seat, near the hinge. Any thoughts on how to loosen it up? I was told I should remove the seat which would provide easier access to the problem area, but it seems a daunting task as I don't know where or how it is connected to the frame behind the seat.
And finally I have the factory 6 disc changer, but the previous owner installed a kenwood deck and now I can't control the cd changer. I don't have the keys to remove the head unit, so without being able to check behind the deck I don't know if it's just not hooked up to the deck (or even if it can be), so is there a harness I can get to connect it or would it be possible/ easier to find a stock 95 radio and attach that?
Thanks to any who can help
