Hi all, first post in the "I need help!" forums.
After trolling here (the amount of info is daunting!)
a couple of questions:
But first some background:
Our 95 Exp Controltrac 4wd has the infamous flashing OD light.
The trans was rebuilt approx 55k miles ago.
I brought the vehicle to our local tans shop, who proceeded to bilk us for over $1100 in repairs. It was "Oh it's this solenoid or it was a damaged sensor, and then (legit) a transfer case magnet that had exploded that was found".
After the $1100 , we simply ran out of money, but the idjits FINALLY Id's the problem as a bad 4th gear solenoid. (you can hear the tranny slip when it goes into OD and then the light comes on)
