I would like to life my Explorer around 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches. I have heard about a leaf lift in the back, and a torsion lift in the front, but how much can I lift the front before its not good for the car?

Ihave a 98 eddie bauer with the torsion bars maxed out and it is not bad for it it just rides a little rougher. The eisiest way to lift the rear of the truck is to go to auto zone and get some 8.5 inch shackle sets and for about twenty dollars you will have a two inch lift . well i say twenty , it may be more if you have to have your front end realighned . you might get more than two inches it just depends on the bars if you have b , d , or f code bars and if you have 4.5, 5.5, or 6.5 inch shackles. hope this can help you.

Adam,
If you are still interested...
The bearings became audible at max lift with "B" bars and extended sway bar links. I backed the "twist" down little by little until the joints were quiet again and have had no problems with wear or alignment. The 32s clear with no rubbing except during hard impacts.
