Ive heard a couple of different things when it comes to lifting the front of a 95 and later explorer. Ive heard your can flip over the torsion bars or you can crank down the bolts to get the lift. does any one know which way is better and can you do them both for even more height. a friend and i where talking and we where thinking that it might be possible to block the a arms and the torsion bars and then add longer shocks.

Do a search on TT or torsion, and you will find lots of info here. You don't turn the bars over, you tighten down the adjustment bolts. Some of the people here had to rotate their bars because they found that they were installed in the wrong position, and that may be what you have picked up on. As for getting more lift, any more than about 2" of torsion bar lift can possibly damage the cv joints because it creates too great an angle between the axle shafts.

Just did the torsion bar lift and got just under 2" extra lift out of the front end. Just what I needed to even out the 2.5" gained by add-a-leaf on the rear. Noticeable improvement in ride characteristics as well - firmer. Eliminated slight front rub on my 31x10.5x15's at full compression and in tight turns.
Good Luck!:redexp:
