I'm making a 95 into a pure offroad vehicle. been chopping stuff left and right. two days ago i tested the 4wd and it worked fine. but yesterday when i went to start working on it the 4wd wont engage. i havent changed anything since the day before when it was working. the 4x4 and 4x4 lo lights blink a few times then go off. it doesnt even try to engage. if anyone can help me i would really appreciate it. i have nice tires on the way and ill be really upset if i have to trash the project just because the 4wd wont engage. if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

The lights blink 6 times every 2 minutes? If so, that is a code for a speed sensor either on the transmission or rear differential. Try disconnecting your battery for 15 minutes and then reconnecting. Then see if it works. My light blink 6 times sometimes because I have my front driveshaft out. Hope this helps

do u have a list of how many times it blink and what that means? if i remember correctly its been blinking 3 times every 2 mins. once this rain stops ill head out and disconnect the batt for a while and see if that works.

the 4x4 control module is in the rear of the truck. cut any wires?

thats something i was looking at. my friend got snip happy and cut everything in the back half off.(arg) but the thing is 4wd was still working even after he cut all that. also i thought the control module was in the back for the 2dr versions, this is 4dr xlt. i might be wrong but im hoping im not.

something like that happened to a friend of mine's s10, what it was for him was the shift linkage got seized

what did he do to fix it? and did he do it himself

fixed it!! blown fuse and broken vacuum tube

95+ does not have a 4x4 computer, the t-case is controlled by the GEM.
