Ive waited to post but ive run out of possible solutions after weeks of reading posts. Before I start this site has been a wealth of information and I do thank the people for their expertise.

I have 95 ranger 2.3 4r44e after battling 2-3 flare and delay engagement issues and now I have no forward at all reverse ok. So far without going the rebuild route I have replaced the valve body to upgraded 4r55e with new solenoids ,band adjustments, replaced both servos ,nottomention several fluid changes and yes orings are on , just replaced internal wire harness (old had some cracking) and replaced range sensor appears to be properly aligned. Also replaced reverse servo and the new drings viton i believe with new gasket.
Thought i had it all set and went on test drive all appeared well and when I got home put in reverse to park car and then tried going into drive -there was no forward seems to rev but no movement but before the test drive there was a hesitation going into drive and i gave it some gas and bang into drive. The next couple of times shifting from park to drive there was no problem until I parked and then went to drive and nothing. I put pressure gauge on went thru the gears and a touch on low side but within spec according to alldata. Reverse was high but that gear seems ok.

Any suggestions to what I could try next or is dropping the tranny my next endeavor. There are no flashing od light and no engine light -no codes to go by so now Im screwed and dont know what else it could be.

added info

I also just adjusted the shifting cable and still in the same .Reverse is not immediate but then again I wouldnt say that it is delayed either but it is not smooth there is a rather harder engagement than my other vehicles.

What a great way to spend Fathers Day---irritated as all hell--now it is getting personal me versus the truck and Im getting a good ol'fashion asswhooping.Any help would be great

If rebuillding is my only option does anybody have like a parts list that I should follow. I dont want to shall I say waste more than I already did but I dont want to cheap out also. This is just an extra vehicles for my kids but the truck only has 45,000 miles on it so I thought it would be good to get.

hopefully this will help narrow it down

I just got in from line pressure test again and the results are:
park just under 100
reverse 144
nuetral 98
drive 75
second 85
first 85 all from normal idle

I know these are on the high side and cant explain that either. The only thing that I realized when I got the new 4r55e valvebody with bonded gasket and solenoids is that the new came with the red band epc which they say is ok for the 4r44e tranny. I still have the green one if anybody thinks that that needs to go back in on new valve body.
Here is the thing that seems strange when going from nuetral to drive the hose firms up(almost feels to pulsate) and goes from nuetrals 100 to 150 for a brief sec then down to around 75 . I dont know if thats what it is suppose to do.
This truck is gettting to be an obsession to find the cure.

If no one has any ideas of what else could be causing this does anybody think it could be electrical either solenoid or wires- or -is it time to bite bullet and yank out tranny for rebuild??
