I have a 95 Ranger that I bought new . I paid extra for the premium FM / CASS stereo . I just bought a SONY radio and installed it myself . I bought a wiring harness that plugged into the existing plugs that I pulled from the back of my old radio . I just got done soldering the wires to the new radio plug and snapped everything into the dash . All of the functions of the radio seem to work fine only NO sound what so ever will come out of the speakers , even with the volume all the way up . ANY IDEAS ???

Does anyone know where the AMP is located ??

Does anyone know where the AMP is located ??
The factory Wiring Manual shows a picture of it on the DS rear corner of the interior but the worded description says it's on the PS. So, your guess is as good as theirs....

95 Radio Woes !

To all that tried to help , THANK YOU very much . I never did have to locate the AMP by the way , so the location is still a mystery . I did find out that it is a JBL amplifier . I was on the phone with the scosche.com techie . They made the radio wiring harness that I used . It seems that there are 2 ways you can go as far as hooking up an aftermarket radio . 1 , is to get the harness designed to " integrate " the amp . This is the way I went . 2 , is to bypass the factory amp . This harness comes with a 3rd set of plugs that will bypass it . What I did wrong when I soldered up the harness to the new radio is I did not hook up the blue wire . This is called the " trigger " wire . When you turn on your aftermarket radio , the radio sends a signal to the amp telling it to turn on . What threw me off is the terminology that FORD used on the factory plug . There was a factory sticker on one of the plugs that pulled out of the stock radio . It says that the Blue wire is for the mute function -( optional ) . So I did not hook this one up . It turns out that this is the " trigger " wire that you need . On your aftermarket radio , this is a blue / white wire . Be sure to put these two together and you'll be good to go .........:us:

Good work solving the problem. Crank those tunes.
