95+ sub/amp interchangability

i was wondering if i could buy the factory eddie bauer 95+ sub/amp combination and use it in my 2000 XLT. are the receivers the same?

The wirings are different. But you're better off getting one from a '98-'01 Explorer b/c Ford changed the sub's size from 6.5" to 8".

Don't believe so. They have different HUs and amps. Plus an aftermarket sub/amp combo will sound much better.

would it fit/ even sound good in my brother's 96 XLT? he is broke and he wants a sub... lol

It'll be cheaper if you go aftermarket. You'll need new wiring harnesses and a new factory receiver. You can build a box for it.
