95 TO 96 Motor Swap

Thought you guys might be interested in hearing this.
I recently bought a motor out of a 96 x, and mine is a 95, and dropped the motor in my car relaizing that it wouldnt work. What fun, I had to pull it back out. FYI: for those who all say that a 95 and a 96 are interchangable, think again. I ran into problems with the sensors, and with the wiring harness. To what it is worth to you guys, I can tell you how I made it work ( or going to) I am leaving now to go and drop the motor in after much needed motifactions.

Yep, whoever told you that the swap would be easy was lying. The 95 is OBD-I while the 96 is OBD-II. The motors are the same, yet the computer and sensors are very different.

Hope you get it figured out. If you have any problems, bring them here. A few guys here have swapped all the OBD stuff before.

My 95 has a 96 engine in it. I had to re-use my old wiring harness, sensors, computer, and exhaust. Works fine now though
