I'm not at all familiar with the 4R44E (aka A4LDE) that is in the '95, other than to say that it is completely electronically controlled. 1st check would be fluid level 2nd check would be fluid flow (pretty easy to check at the tranny cooler) 3rd would probably be pressure, but that's not as easy. 4th would be electrical harness. Does the transmission have power? grounds to the PCM intact, etc.

yea check fluid level and then you can test the solenoids for pressure. they should be:

TC - .02 OHMs
pressure - .010
all 4 shifts - .25 OHMS

i tested mine and then talked to a ford tech about them.

is your OD light flashing? make sure all connections are secured right? tight? how many miles were on JY tranny? how many miles on yours?

does it even try to move?

no movement at all.the new one had 54000 on it.

so both tranny's doing the exact same thing? weird. i highly doubt both trannys had same problem..but it is possible. did you install a new TC that came with tranny or reuse your old one? have you checked the fluid level yet? also after you have had the fluid drained completely and put new in you have to let it run a bit and rev it some, work it in and out of gear to get the fluid moving thru so it will have enough pressure to move.

again..is your OD light flashing? if so go to ford. they can pull the tranny code and tell you what the code means....but they cannot give you a definate cause until they tear it apart. i took mine to them, got code pulled, then went home and checked everything they said it may be. mine ended up being a broken band.

not all 95 are fully electronic, mine isnt.

ps. they made sport tracs in 96?

weird? does your still have a vac modualtor on it?

So does it lock in park? That would verify that the transfer case is not somehow stuck in neutral. Looks like those resistances for the coils are off by a factor of 100. More likely 10- 25 ohms. Not up on details if you need to aply current to the pressure solenoid to get movement in any gear, but that would be a common external problem to both transmissions.
