Guys, I have read numorus posts with this same problem and I have tried about every known remedy for this, and I still have the problem with a very bad idle when starting a hot engine after it has set for about 15 min. This is a pushrod v6 ohv. :)
I really need an expert`s advise on this ,maybe someone who has had this and had some luck fixing it,thanks.

No expert

I'm certainly no expert but I'll share my thoughts on the subject.

A warm start poor idle is usually not due to an intake leak which is more prevalent during a cold start.

One possible source is a faulty (but not open or shorted which will set a DTC) engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. If the PCM thinks the engine is cold (due to the ECT sensor) it enrichens the mixture when it's not needed.

Another possibility is a dirty MAF sensor. A dirty MAF sensor will result in rich mixtures at idle and lean mixtures at high engine speeds.

Another possibility is heat soaked injectors. The engine runs long enough to warm up and then gets shut down. The fuel injectors absorb the heat from the heads and the heat adversely affect their operation upon restart. The impact can be minimized by insuring the engine does not overheat and the injectors are clean.

Improper fuel pressure due to clogged fuel filter, defective fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump is another possibility.

Thanks for your tips. I`m going to get to work on fuel filter and sensor this week.
