So, here is what I got... 1996 Ford Exp Sport.
Parked it on a slight incline, which always makes it a little harder to shift out of park.
When I tried to shift, I got a lot of resistance, almost like the cable was binding, then no clicks but the lever moved, and somehow I was able to get it in D.
got it home, and of course, tried to shift it back into P and it's stuck in drive.
the tow truck driver was able to get it in park, moving the lever at that tranny
So my question is, Im guessing it binded and then broke - where can I get a replacement cable? local stores don't seem to have anything - also, can I use one off a 98? is it in two parts? you guys are awesome with diagrams.
Im glad it seems like the linkage to the tranny and not the tranny itself, since the lever at the tranny could be moved... is this a common failure point? - Thanks
