I have a 96 Explorer
I was having an electrical problem with the hydrolic pump with my Snoway blade. I followed wires under the dash and found an inline fuse blown for the plow. Put a new fuse in and the blade works again.

However since then, my power door locks lock automatically when I put the truck in drive and unlock when I put it in park. It never did this before. Did I magically program something by poking around under the dash? Was this an option in 96?

My son has a 96 too, fully loaded, and his will lock when put in drive, but doesnt automatically unlock.

Since this started happening my remote start does not work either.... maybe related?

Thanks

Curtis

Sounds like that's what you did inadvertantly. It is "changeable" using a "multi-sequence of arm waving and door lock/unlock"...:-).... It is also possible that you changed an alarm state which might be blocking your remote start.

You must have reset something when you changed the fuse. Look in the manual under "Autolock" for how to disable it. Something about turning the key on, hit the unlock button three times, key off, lock, throw some salt over your shoulder, key on, unlock three times, hop on one foot in a circle, key off, and make three armpit farts. :D
Seriously, I don't have my owners manual in front of me, but I disabled the Autolock in my Sport Trac, I hated it.

I guess that is a cool "mistake" like said above see in the owners manuel what the deal is. My locks(96 XLT fully loaded) lock when put in drive or when you go above 5 mph or somthing but they dont automadiclly unlock
