Can't seem to wrap my head around what's going on here. Tonight I was driving to a friends when I stopped to get gas. Stopped in the convenience store, and when I returned to my truck I started it and stalled immediately. It did this several more times. I left for a few hours came back to it and tried again, and it wouldn't even turn over.

Some things I've done that may just be a coincidence are switching from 87 to 89 octane fuel and cleaning my fuel injectors. I highly doubt it's the battery because it's less than two years old and it shows no signs of wear. I'm leaning towards a bad fuel pump because of how the events unfolded. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Maybe someone hit it while you were in the store?

Try the fuel reset behind the pass side kick panel. Wouldn't hurt.

The pats system maybe messed up as well.

Will try to fuel reset when I can. My keys aren't chipped so I'm not even sure if my truck's equipped with a PATS system.

Yeah, pats was not on your year, sorry bout that.

I was just thinking along those lines because tour fuel pump should not stop the engine from turning over. Did you just drain the battery trying to start it?

Went out on a limb and replaced the fuel pump and got lucky. It's running fine now. Just wish it didn't kick the bucket after filling up because siphoning 21 gallons of gas sucks.

thats kinda funny same thing happend to me last year at a gas station. and i got a 96 too
