I have a 96 Explorer (4dr); the Driver's and Passenger's windows are down (about half way). I have checked the fuses - they are good.

The thing that puzzled me is everything else is functioning correctly. Power Locks and the side Mirrors.

Where should I look next?

First off, get under a garage. Which windows are they? Front or rear or all?

Did you make sure that your window control under the four window controller at the driver seat is turned off? Not to be silly, but i've done dumb things before.

If no luck still, your window motors may be dead.

BTW: WELCOME TO THE SITE!!!!!!!!!!!! :chug:

Got her parked in the Garage.

Yeah - that was the first thing I looked at. Currently all 4 windows will not go up or down. But the power locks still work.

I took the door panel off this morning to sneak a peak. Every thing seems to be fine. But check this out.

I had the keys in the ignition, with the door open. The tone that lets you know you still have your keys in the ignition would only go off if you had the door open all the way out. And the light on the door would only light up with the door completely open as well.

Possible short in the door wiring?

I HATE ELECTIRAL PROBLEMS!!!!

do they go up with the switches on the doors themselves

Relay

Where is the Power Windows relay? and how do I get to it?

got a wire testor? Thats the best way just to check the switch.

FIXED IT!!!!!!!!

After working since 11:00 am today I fixed it.

The System Power Windows Relay was bad. I went to O' Reilys and bought the relay this afternoon - (the guy behind the counter argued with me and told me it was not the relay-- but I bought it any way). But I could not figure out which relay it was by looking at it under the hood. So I broke out the Owners Manual, and found it under WAY under the dash.

After doing some research I found the relay, pulled it out and went to Auto Zone to see if they it. The relay I pulled out did not match the relay the guy at O' Reily sold me. Auto Zone did not have it in stock so I drove over across town to the Auto Zone that had it in stock. The guy there pulled out the same relay that guy at O' Reily sold me. So the guy went through all his relays and found the right one.

Auto Zone had the wrong relay in their database for my 96 Explorer. The CORRECT relay part # is MR76 - Just in case someone else runs in to the same problem.

Thanks for the help.

Where is the systems power relay?
Ive got a 95 and Im experiencing the same thing.
