So who is going to be the first one to try out the 4" Superlift for the '96+ Explorers? I know a lot of people have been waiting...

you drill your stock roof rack to get those lights in there?

dude that looks nice. how much did teh kit cost you? i have looked around and only a few companies even make a kit for teh IFS explorer (all around $1600) at superlift.com i couldnt find any info on this actual kit. where did you get it and how much was it?

you're complaining about $1600.00?.....? Some people pay even more for their lifts - the only difference is they do not lift brand new trucks........ not too many guys here are interested in lifting and taking their trucks on the trail especially after they dished out $15-20K for them...... I bet with time there will be more and more like this as the older will get....... well, older.

later,,,,

PS. I've got a 98 and for now TT and AAL should do it. - for now I repeat......

:)

dude 1600 is big bucks for me. my parents bought me this nice car and part of the deal was i had to save the money i would have spent on it. so im getting a second part time job to pay for my mods. i can get shackles, torsion twist and 3 inch bod for under 200 (5 inch total) but was wondering if a suspension would be better, or worth the money better. sorry, but im only 17 and broke. im learning, and tryin to figure out my mod list, and in a year ill be elite, hehe.

oh and this bad boy goes on the trail, probably far more trail than it can handle as up to this point (as it is 99 percent stock). i ahve spent more money on replacement parts (like the ripped off airdam) than anything else, but im not afraid of the trail, or the mud.:shoot:

as for the 17 year old..... you should be fine with TT, AAL and body lift for now. Naturally suspension lift is gonna be better by far than all that, especially better than body lift..... it would simply handle on and off road better. Like I said, for now due to your age and money supply you should just go with TT and AAL..... everything else will come later.... remember: never enough mods

once you do TT and AAL, you'll want more and if it's not one thing it's another.... always something plus other "damage" that you might incur while wheeling....

do a little and watch this board. I'm pretty much sure that with time we'll get more and more guys putting on this lift....

BTW. Think about other people.... Skyjacker is offering a lift for a Cherokee for over $2k..... dig it?

thanks. thats probably all i will get for now. and i am also thinking about a catback exhaust, as it will also increase mileage therefore paying for itself over time (maybe a lot of time, depending on the difference) by saving me money. thanks for the suggestions, and i will continue to watch the board.

you just watch every guy around here.... they were all in the same situation at one point..... as far as catback system? I don't think it will pay for itself..... not even close.... but if you need new exhaust, what the heck then?

good luck,

i figured it wouldnt, buy hey, its an excuse to sound strong, look good, and make my X a little more of a hauss.

at the same time..... see if you can upgrade that cat back system a bit and run two exhaust pipes out......? looks pretty good....

yea thats what i was thinking. i just put a post on another thread about the same thing. i have never seen a duel on an X on the street, but i imagine it looks pretty good. we'll see what i can do. and is there any advantage to dual exhaust or is it strictly looks, supposing the muffler system is the same, only with two pipes.

strictly for looks.... and I've seen at least two trucks with dual exhaust..... looks pretty cool if you ask me.

yea i thought so. how much more would teh price run for dual?

have no idea.... the best way is to check with a local mufler shop..... usually they are able to fab something up and you can still use the turbo mufler that you'd buy somewhere else...... I did that in my 1994....... when I lost my exhaust on a trail I just went to the shop and told them that it's time for some mean system....... $140.00 including all the labor and parts (that included their won turbo mufler)......... sounded pretty good if you ask me.

I've seen dynomax offering somewhere muffler and pipe for like $90.00.......... plus shipping......

sweet i'll check up on that. how much better would that be than borla cat-back?

what i meant is how much better is catback, to see if its worth going cheaper.

I think the original question was for about Superlift's NEW 96+ EXPLORER lift. Not a pieced together Ranger lift.

For 1600, not including the 400 drive shaft I'd rather get the RCD coil over long travel 4" lift kit.
