Hey Whit,

Regarding cat back systems, a few months ago a baffle in my stock muffler came loose. You could hear it squeaking from outside as it moved, and it caused the engine light to come on. I ordered up a flowmaster catback system from Summit for either $130 or $160 (I think $130) and, to be honest, I am well more than impressed. It will pay for itself in 6 months. The improved gas mileage was obvious, better acceleration, and not too loud (I don't like loud exhaust, low and throaty is good). My local muffler shops were wanting to charge $90-$110 for another OEM muffler and tail pape only. What a scam! I bolted the whole thing on in a couple hours and am really impressed. It is a single exhaust, but well worth it.

wow thanks for that. i think i am sold now for a catback.

well, I just found something very interesting.... a 2001 Sport Trac lift from Superlift for $1249.00.... wouldn't that fit the Explorer as well?????

:p

how many inches is the lift andre? does anybody know if this will fit a 96 exploere?

The guys says it won't fit Explorer but to the best of my knowledge it's all the same....... right? Explorer Explorer Sport Trac???

it's a 4" lift and it's from NTW...... National Tire and Wheel...... I have found some great deals from them....... I'm buying a 3" Superlift lift for my XJ and the whole thing is gonna cost me $288.00 including shocks....... they've got some crazy prices...

The Sport Trac lift will probably work for the 98+ Explorers with bolt on torsion bar brackets, but it won't work on the 95-97 Explorers with the welded mounts.

dont forget the optional front driveshaft which is really neccessary. :D

$400

The Superlift Sportrac kit will work.

even though it will work there's still a price that not too many people are willing to pay.

For interested....... price I quoted came from National Tire and Wheel....... great prices...

On the exhaust side...

Duals sound nice!

feed back on the superlift x 4" lift

I am curious what people think abou this lift ?

I am considering doing this lift along with a 3 " body lift and Perry's fiber glass on a 97 sport 4x4 and run 35" Thornbirds.

I want something that is very capable for trail riding.

that is exactly what i want to do (for my 96). is 35 the biggest you could fit with 7 inches total? and who knows about this suspension lift kit and its performance and total price?

"The Superlift Sportrac kit will work."

With some rear fender trimming and perry's fenders up front, I bet you could fit some 37's or 38's with that! :nono:

But keep in mind, the IFS hub assembly and ball joints would get really trashed by tires that size.

Nice "X" LowdPypes (I didn't say it in regards to the Mountaineer. I really do like it :) )
