OK, here's my first question.
I have a 96 explorer and want to connect my wired trailer lights to it.
I do not see anthing special that would indicate that a "towing" type package was installed anywhere. Is there a plug that this car would have that I can just plug the connector to? If not, what is an easy was to do this?

there is a plug for hooking up a trailer, it is a connector on the drivers side that you break apart and insert the dongle for the trailer lights in-line with the drivers side tail lights. The plug will mount on the bottom of the rear bumper. I've got mine hooked up and pull a lawn mower on a small trailer for some mowing jobs I do for extra money. don't put much wieght on the bumber, it will not hold much at all. Also make sure what your towing isn't more than the rated towing capacity of your Ex.

The one he is talking about is the stock harness behind the jack compartment cover. Aftermarket companies make plugs that fit in there.

But,

Try looking under the passenger side of your Bumper, there might be a wire harness that goes to a plug that has a cap in the end. A factory Ford trailer harness clips into that When you pull out the cap. This is the prefered way of doing it.

I only see one wire cable with a connecter that eventually goes up into the tail light
