Hi I have a 96 Explorer Limited 5.0 that wont start most of the time. Its only been starting once a day, just replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, new air cleaner, and changed the oil. I can hear the fuel pump priming, the inertia switch isnt tripped, and when I changed the spark plugs, they were wet with fuel. Not sure if Im getting spark or not but wouldnt even start with ether sprayed into the intake. CEL comes on when the key is turned on, and no codes are present. Any help appreciated
You indicate that the CEL comes on with "KEY ON"... but it also needs to go out at some point during a "start sequence" (while the engine is cranking)... IF that doesn't happen, you likely have a crank sensor issue and / or wiring associated with the "timing signals".
