Ok, we've solved the cam sensor problem, and the egr problem and it seems to have improved the mpg some but still haven't drove it enough to tell for sure how much.
NEXT UP: The front end. It's starting to make some funny noises when I hit a bump or rough spot. The steering still seems to be tight, no drift or shimmy etc.
The boots are shot on all the ball joints, I'm looking into the possibility of changing out all 4. Is there any major difference in the front end set up of the 2wd v 4wd. I have looked at Evan's great howto photo sequences and don't see any major problems yet. Is the 2wd basically more simple than the 4wd? What about just doing the lowers? It seems that if I have to pull the knuckle I may as well change the uppers while I'm at it. The prices don't seem too bad for the upper part in the two piece set up as compared to the new one piece part. What say you problem solvers??
Any problems to watch out for other than skinned hands. I think I'm going to try wearing gloves for this project. I'm running out of skin.
Thanks
GR
