hi im ernie and this is my first post. I really need some help. so i replaced the waterpump today and when i tried starting it the motor turned over and made a whining sound and just as it seened like it was going to start it dies. I got a little backfire at the end of the last attempt. I have replaced waterpumps on of few cars and i consider myself capable of such repairs as i have never had an issue at the end of repair. All the pulleys are turning and there is no leaks. Could it be not enough fluid in the system or is there something big i could have damaged working in that area. Any suggestions are greatly appreciatedl. In the morning im going to start taking it apart and i just dont know what im looking for. Im stuck in "WHY WONT THE CAR START" mode and its driving me crazy.
Thanks and Happy Holidays

Does the vehicle have Fuel pressure? If so, the correct PSI ? ... or look for plugs you may have disconnected ... just a thought.

You need, air, fuel and spark timed correctly.
Which one is missing?

as you were working in the general area, check to make sure you haven't disturbed the crank position sensor, its wires or its plug.

thanks for the help and i will let u know how it turns out
