97 4x4 SOHC
97 4x4 sohc victim to 100k transfer case time bomb. Finally decided to replace with a modified case from rockland. Well im worried about safely getting it started due to sitting a while. So far, im going to:
Change oil/ filter
Drop trans pan replace filter and add fluid.
Plugs
Fuel filter. No idea how much gas I have. If a lot ill siphon out and full tank of fresh 93.
Battery
Prob 2 tires where there was some dry rot
My rotors are disgusting but somewhat fresh pads so maybe if not warped, I can get away with it

I was going to fog cylinders but am I being too worried? Missing anything? I searched didnt find anything , oh and if anybody doesnt have a set of ratcheting pivoting metric box wrenches, really consider buying them. Took 20 minutes to pull the case off the trans extension.

Thanks for any advice!

Good, check the metal brake line at the rear axle for rust. A little bleeding of all four wheels would be good also, you know flush all fluids including coolant. Check into some StarTron enzyme cleaner for your fuel system, but you will likely need another new fuel filter after that cleaning process. Check the vent tubes for blockage (trans, diffs, etc.). With the ControlTrac you should consider four tires instead of two. That system will throw faults if the tire circumference does not match.

I would pull the plugs after you change the oil and cycle the motor. This should get the oil back into the top of the motor.

Check on the fuel. You may need some fuel treatment.

Yes definitely agree with getting some oil to the heads...reason I am saying this is mine sat for a few years, for the same reason (transfer case) and when I started it a valve was stuck open and there was some damage as a result.
