I was looking around on crutchfield at some cheaper aftermarket speakers and came across Sound Ordnance.. reviews are good, price is on the cheaper side, and they sounded good on youtube.
now my question isnt about that brand of speaker.. my question is about mounting them ion the exploder... crutchfield says that both the 5 1/4's and the 5x7's will fit in the rear, but not the front. for the same brand 5 1/4 component system, it says it fits in both the front and rear. when i looked at the mounting specs for both the component system and the 5 1/4 2-ways, they were the same:
Top-mount Depth (Inches) 1 15/16
Bottom-mount Depth (Inches) 2 1/16
Cutout Diameter or Length (inches) 4 11/16
Why will the component system fit, but not the 2-ways, when all the dimensions are the same? is this just a crutchfield error, or is there some reason the 2-ways wont mount? maybe the tweeter in the cone is too high? i dunno... but it just boggles my mind
