About a month ago, at highway speeds of 65+ the vehicle began to shift its weight from side to side, while still driving a straight line. Only slowing the vehicle will correct the balance again.

I have already replaced the rear shocks.

*NOTE* This is the only time there is any odd behavior from the suspension. Over bumps, hills or turns it is perfectly fine *NOTE*

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Front sway bar links.. should cost about 45 bux at local parts store.

Another culprit could be air-ride auto adjusting improperly...if you have that on your Eddie. Go with the sway bar bushings first, like ZBlackBeast said, most likely the ones up front.

those are shocks, what you need are sway bar links. they are abut 1.6 feet long and about 1/2 inch think or soo. should come with 4 poly bushings and all the bolts. its connects your lower control are to your sway bar. you cant miss it. they are on the front (obviously), and take about 20 min to install...

*edit* yes, do you have the auto ride control?

Not an Explorer, but looks similar:

These are exactly the part you should look for:

another resaon may be the road itself.... have you tried driving the same speeds and same conditions on other roads... cuz i know there are a few roads by me that make my truck do funny things....

had the same prob...come to find out i was actually missing one. when ever i went over a slight bump on the highway it would shake side to side. def ur front sway bar link

Maybe some of you didnt read my post, but replied anyways. *Shrug* *NOTE* This is the only time there is any odd behavior from the suspension. Over bumps, hills or turns it is perfectly fine *NOTE*

The URL didnt come out right, but yea, it was:
MOOG - Sway Bar Link Or Kit
Item No: K7275

$15.99 per Box
2 Per Vehicle
Limited lifetime warranty
FRONT SUSPENSION
COMPLETE KIT

I was wondering because that seemed cheap. ...and no, I really do not think it has any auto ride control.

aleej: hahahaha yes. In a month I have driven on more than 1 road. And the road surfaces have not change on me. But thanks anyways.

Thanks!

just thought id offer up the suggestion cuz sometimes it ends up being something stupid like that

That's about the right price for sway bar ends. You can double check the part number with other retailers online. They're basically just (two) metal rods that have poly bushings at the ends.

I removed both of my sway bars long ago and my truck gets that odd wobble you felt. Another way to tell of your sway bars need attention is if you get a lot of creaking noises from the suspension. Let us know if you need help unistalling/installing the new ends.

Every time other than high way speeds mine was fine, but once i got going fast over bumps it changed. It ended up being my links..

I had forgotten to update this thread. It was missing the right front sway bar. Putting one in place definitely corrected the problem. Thanks!
