i have a 97 explorer xlt and on my wway home from work i applied heavily on the gas and the truck seemed to stumble and would not upshift and im not quite sure if its a transmission problem or an engine problem. upon breaking and acccelerating again the problem seems to go away but this is the 2nd time this happened any ideas? the check engina light is on and has been on for months and the code says its a bad O2 sensor. also, the idle seems to change everytime i stop at a red light, sometimes it will be 500 rpm other times 900 but im not sure why.
