97 mountaineer plug blowout

Just reg. to the site but have read many posts before now and has been a great help,so thanks to all associated to the site. My new prob.is one I can't find a solid ans. for I have 97 mountaineer 5.0l the insulator blew out of the plug threads on #3 cyl,all I can find is info on the tritons, thanks JD

Did just the insulator blow out and leave the threaded portion in the head?If that happened just get a correct size easy-out and remove the plug piece.I've removed a bunch of plugs this way.
If you ripped the threads out its time to do a Heli-coil to fix the threads

Thanks for the reply Mike, Yes just the insulator blew out but the nut portions of the plug are severly rusted. Thanks Joe
 


















PB Blaster is your friend. Two or Three Applications a day for a few days should be enough with a Good Quality Snap-On or Craftsmans Spark Plug Socket. Good Luck
 






Thanks All, The input was a great help, the hex portion was prety much disformed by rust, but was able to remove by chiseling out rust and shell til it spun out used kroil,and pb thanks again for the welcome, and responses Joe D
