Went to Northwest auto in anchorage here last week, my favorite kind of parts buying - a UPULL salvage yard. I was looking for interior stuff to update my Mounty or replace my tattered console top. I stumbled upon some heated 01 Excursion Limited seats that looked like they'd be a fit. I know they're a little big, but not having a tape measuring device i went and borrowed one and some tools to test fit it on my passenger side. BOOM - nice fit indeed... best to remove the arm rest with the same torque bit as the seatbelt bolt
The base from the Mountaineer stock seats carry over except the bolt holes only line up front to back, not width wise however. I solved this for the other 2 bolts with a drill and some bolts and wingnuts. The seat motors still accomplish everything fine, and move smoothly through all extremes.
* I finished working on the passenger side wiring the heated seat in and the bolt hole drilling... *They look nice and are comfortable! I got a hold of them for under 200 bucks, usually those seats go for 2-400 a piece... Mainly because they didn't have the driver seat in the system so they let that one go for 50 bucks...
**Sorry this took so long, back to work this week, driver side this weekend-w/how-to
The passenger base in the Excursion wasnt powered, so I had to cut holes to fit my switch box
Probably end up gluing it in once I finish the other one.
Cheers
