97 Sport rear axle blocked from Ford?

I searched around and could not find anything about this.

But i was under my sport looking at the rear axle and assemblies and i noticed that my rear axle seems to be blocked the same way sport trucks do to lower there trucks? but it seems factory as i bought this truck from a abnk that used it as a messenger truck its whole life and have all service records.

Is this factory?

Can i remove it to gain some ride height?

I'm assuming that you have a monoleaf set up in the rear. If so then it was set up with this block from the factory. The factory did this so they could use the same U-bolts as the 4 doors which have a thicker leaf pack. I don't know if it's possible to remove this block to gain height. I have never heard of anyone doing this. But if you did you would probably need different U-bolts.

you wont gain any height. for the block to lower it would have to be between the axle and the leaf, not the leaf and shock mount
