Hi, I have a 97 XLT 4dr 6cyl. that won't start. It has a CEL light that reads bank one is running lean. Spent lots of time investigating this, and the shop that passed it for inspection and was supposed to fix it, did not. Still have not found the culprit. Anyhow, it has been taking two or three cranks to get her to fire in this colder weather. It's been sitting now for three days now without being started, and won't fire. Is it a terrible idea to spank it slightly with some starter fluid? I've heard this can do damage to some motors, but can't remember if it's a good idea or not.. Thanks!
