97x 4x4 lift

How much of a lift can the driveshaft take before i have to worry about it breaking. I've heard that 3" max suspension lift is all. With a 4" max overall with body lift and suspension. Is this true?

Only thing that effects the driveshaft is an actual suspension lift. Body lifts don't apply here. I know there is quite a few people running 5.5-6" on the stock rear driveshaft with no problems. When you're talking about dropping down the front axle, such as with the Superlift and Trailmaster kits, then you have to start worrying about the front axle.
