I'm sure something like this has already been posted, but I want to put my 98 5.0 motor and ecu in my 99 ranger with a 5 speed transmission. The only thing that's keeping me from doing the swap is the ecu. How can I bypass the the auto features? I've been doing a lot of research and I haven't really gotten a solid answer. I don't have a tuner, but my local Ford dealership will flash and program for me for a decent price. I read something about removing the 17 and 18 resisters, and replacing 18 with a 0ohm, and something else about having the nss grounded? Have any of you done a auto to manual swap? Are there any threads I missed in my search? Or is there another ecu I can use from say a late 90's f150?
