Has anyone ever run across a better built belt tensioner other than the standard aftermarket replacement brands (Gates, Napa Etc).
I have built a 331 and everything is getting coated, cleaned, replaced etc.
The factory tensioner looks like A$$ and won't look good on a new engine.
I took the factory tensioner apart and the plastic spring guide insert is about toast.
The new aftermarket units don't look like they are made to come apart from the pictures I've seen and if I got one I would want to PC it to match the rest of the engine.
