Hi all

I actually posted something similar a year or so ago so I'll kinda make this short...

Are the factory foglight connectors (right behind the bumper) the same for a '98 and '99 Explorer Sport ?

Reason for asking is that my '98 Explorer has the foglight option, but the foglights are missing. However, due to shoddy bodywork (before I bought it) there is a front bumper cover for a '99 Explorer Sport (with foglight cutouts, just no foglights)

If '99 factory lights will work, I would rather go that route than to make any other changes...I'm not a wiring genius...I just want to plug lights to the factory connectors and go LoL

Thanks !

Scott

I can't say for sure on the plugs but if all you have is a different bumper cover it wont be a simple install.

The fog lamps mount to the brace that is behind the bumper which means you would have to modify some brackets which wont be a simple plug in and go.

Hope this helps you out and good luck

If your Explorer once had the foglights, and the connections are there, you can always go the aftermarket route, and mount them anywhere you want and you would be able to use the switch on the radio bezel...

My factory foglights attach to the bumper cover...

And the wiring was not there since my truck did not have them installed...

But the relay box on the passenger side next to the airbox is where I attached the wiring harness from a donor Explorer and a relay and when I plugged in the fog light switch from a donor radio bezel I had fog lights on...
