GOT IT TO WORK!!!!!!!!!
So here's how I did it:
I have a 95 explorer XLT and I'm swapping for a 98 XLT CD/Cassette Radio
95 explorer radio part# = F57F-19B165-AE
98 explorer radio part# = F87-18C868-CD
He told me the install is just like installing an aftermarket radio
He said the only problems that he has expierenced is the illumination of the 98 radio in the 95.
He said to test the orange wires before hand to make sure there is proper power running.
Now he told me to go to a local radio/stereo shop (Circuit City, 6th Ave ect.) to get the harness.
There are 2 harness needed.
Part #'s are
70-5600
71-1771 (order this for the radio shop in colorado, thier phone # is 1-303-761-6022 talk to Paul )
These are "Metra" part #'s
I had a hard time trying to find the 71-1771 part so I ordered it from Paul & Peter who are located in Colorado.
They charged me about $20.00 including shipping to NJ.
I soidered the wires together but you can use butt-connectors. There are going to be 3 wires on the the Rectangular shaped barness that don't connect to anything. They are blue (this is for a power antenna, it's labled power ant), blue w/ a white stripe(is power for the amp) and orange (I don't remember what this is for).
The blue w/ the white stripe is the power for the amp. Paul told me to Take the blue w/ whit stripe wire and soider it into the ingintion wire located on the harness w/ the retangular end. The color of that wire is RED.
Because I did not have that hooked up when I 1st set up the radio that is why I experieced no sound coming out of the speakers but everything else worked!
Peter and Paul walked me through the steps and were EXTREMELY helpful! I believe they own a private radio install shop and Paul is the TECH.
This is is an easy and cheap way to get a GREAT radio for cheap. Def don't buy the radio from the stealership unless you want to pay $300 and ^ Try to buy one from the for sale message board on here.
Again I'll post pics when I get a chance
Hope this helps everyone out!
