Hi all I am bovus. I own two 98 Explorers and one 94 ranger. Since I really don't need or want 2 explorers I was thinking about putting the engine, trannie, hood, fenders, front doors, grill and bumper from a 98 explorer onto the 94 ranger. How compatible are they?

Uh... I'd remover the parts on the ranger if that question might arise. Also the ranger is an extended cab.

not really comparable at all. the hood will bolt on, but the front edge will be different. the first thing on the fenders is the body line is different, cant remember if the curve for the door is the same or not. there is someone that did this front end on his ranger here years ago, and he had to cut the fronts of both fenders off, then weld the explorer front on, then he was able to put the grill and header panel on after that. he also had to do some work behind the head lights to the rad core support, and i think he also had to modify the frame horns for the front bumper (but that one i am not sure).
what motors do your have to begin with? are the ohv's? you can use the long block from the ex to the ranger, but will have to change intakes, exhaust manifolds all sensors, and wire harness, and the metal motor mounts. trans, thats where your s.o.l.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just rebuild the engine on the ranger then.
