Hello all - so glad to stumble upon this active and helpful forum.
I'm helping my brother troubleshoot a problem on his 98 Explorer and we need help. Neither reverse or 4-low will engage today (a problem made more sever by Seattle's current snowstorm). The car was fine yesterday on a 15-hour drive out from Park City, UT, much of which was driven in 4-hi.
So far, we've checked fuses and the automatic transmission fluid level, and all check out ok. We're trying to find a friend/shop with a code-reader to check for any faults.
Where else should we look for clues?
