I have had my 1998 Explorer in the work shop for a rather long time to do various things. During this time, almost 3 months, it hasn't been started up. The battery has been disconnected all this time and the engine lifted out of the car.
Today, trying to start it up when all is back together, it seems as if the codes in the keys or the car are lost...?!
I have two original keys that have always worked flawlessly but today neither one got the car starting. Trying the process outlined in the manual to "reprogram" didn't work either. Does anyone have any idea as what to do, or have anyone experienced this before?
Is there something in particular being cleared when it's without battery power for this long, which causes this?
I really want my car up and running again! I miss it!
