Newbie here......I'm installing a new tailpipe (muffler back) on a 98 Explorer 4.0 SOHC 4W 4D and need some help with routing and the best way to do this....my old one rusted and fell off so I'm not sure where it goes...I've tried a few paths, each a struggle, and not sure if the auto supply gave me the right replacement part....is there a site to get some pictures? does this go between the strut and the control arm or outside the control arm? (control arm may not be the right name)... should I feed this from rear to front or front to rear?

BTW I didn't want to do this job but the national chain muffler shop said they would not replace the tailpipe unless they replaced the muffler because the muffler had a tiny pin hole in it....bums

I'm doing the job now....needs to be inspected today.....any guidance is most appreciated....

Thanks,
Doug

Behind the passenger rear tire. You can check the modified explorer section and see some tricked out exhaust but I imagine most of them sacrificed the spare tire.

All done....and inspected! To snake the pipe through the truck needed to be jacked up....once that was done it was a no brainer how it should go and it went quite easily....thanks for your assistance.

Regards,
Doug

Ok. I have this brake booster replacement tut for you. It's a detail guide so you can follow & execute every step efficiently.
