I have a 1998 Ranger XLT 4cyl. 2wd. I recently got an instrument cluster from a 1997 Ford Explorer and installed it into my Ranger because I had no tach and honestly liked the Explorer cluster better. I was soon on the side of the road with a dead battery. I put my original cluster back in and suddenly my battery is charging again. Is there a way I can use the Explorer cluster in my Ranger? What happened?
