98+ Ranger Suspension Question

Did the 98+ ranger ever come with a coilover suspension instead of torsion bars?

Ok I was wondering because on the ranger station it says that some of them did (on the timeline).

They mention coil sprung front end for the 2wd. I believe that's right. But it's not coilovers. There is a shock right next to the coil. Even with the control arm IFS, I'm almost positive that I've seen 2wd F-150's and 2wd Rangers with coil spring front ends. But only on the 2wd. The 4wd has the torsion bars. The coils would get in the way of the axle shafts. But in either case, they aren't coilovers.

on the 98+ ranger 2wd models, they have the A-arm suspension up from and they have coil springs. inside the coil springs are the shocks. (there is one bolt at the top of the shock and two at the bottom that hold it in place)

on the 4wd models they had the torsion bar suspension

So it's not possible to put these on a 4x4?

The ground clearance would be such an advantage offroad.

Nope the CV axels come out of the front diff. in the same place and the coil spring are.

RCD is coming out with 2 new lifts this year for the 98'-02'. Both are going to be a 5.5" lift. One is going to be similar to the Superlifts and Traildisaster lifts and the other is going to get rid of the torsion bars. I'm sure it will be pretty expensive but it will be the best lift you can get for the new Rangers. Plus Bilstein is in on the design.
