'98 tune up questions........

hi, ive had my ex for 3 yrs now, and im just now getting into the performance side of things....if it was a car i would get the bolt on parts right away, and it seems that everything in the engine bay will take a day or so to pull out (just a tight bay.....spark plugs took a couple hours for me.........), i was wonderiong that now that i need a tune up what should i check and get replaced? are there parts that could be replaced to get more power that i could bolt on? im not looking to spend a whole lot of money, but i am prepared to sink some in to get better performance. (ignition? plug wires? anything along the intake plenum, mayeb cams or gears? oil pan, computer?)


also, im not very fond of the transmission, is there anything i could do to get teh power to ground a bit better? it seems to me that the engine makes quite a bit of power already but its just not getting to the ground very well,
torque convertor, center lsd different gears? whichever, im just lloking for suggestions that i can try.....

and another thing, im in vancouver, and i just dont like the ride height anymore, but im not into rock crawling or anything so i dont need a 5 inch lift, is there a shop close that i could check out? maybe a 3 inch kit (body lift preferably...) and a conversion to do soa? ive been checking out the threads

I would recommend an intake, a custom cat back exhaust and a flasher ( http://www.bamachips.com/ )

thx, now that im on my weekend im going to the shop to check out some parts, i have a drop in k&n, so im gonna get the exhaust, and prob. ignition..
and concentrate on the engine after that.......
