98 X K&N filter test underway

What i did Was replace the filter with a K&N on my 98X and ALSO removed the restrictive nozzle that comes off the front of the airbox(points to the back of the lights)...now the hole in the airbox is nearly the size of the main intake hose. I was getting about 17mpg before the change on my V6sohc. We shall see what the difference is on the next fill up.

I just did that and I took it one step further. I cut a huge square off the front of the air box. I will have to see if I get any mpg gains also, but with my new dual exhaust and my airbox mod, I've been enjoying the extra power.

Yep

I cut the big hole in mine also. Can tell it has more power! I love my dremal tool!
