Hi all. I'm Joshua, just picked up an Explorer today!

-98
-XLT
-AWD
-leather, heated, power seats
-power locks,windows,mirrors,keyless

-6 disc changer/cd headunit
-5.0L V8

I like it a lot. I got a pretty good deal, 11,252.00 with a 2 month 2K warrenty.

Not too bad, it was like 2K under Blue Book, and 2,500 less than they were asking.

Runs really well, could use new rotors but I'll have them do that soon.

I'm excited to have it and to be here, I hope to learn a lot.

Sorry if it's a newb q but is there any good posts on what to look for, what needs a lot of maintenence, ect? I know radius arm bushings are big ones, but other than that what should I look for?

Thanks for all the help, I hope to be here for a while.

Welcome to the X world.
It sounds like you got a good deal on a low mileage vehicle.
I have had mine for a couple years now and to date, I have had no major problems. The biggest occurred in the first few days (rattling noise, front passenger side) and the dealer repaired it. Right now I am about to change the egr pressure sensor which has triggered a cel. Other than that, the Explorer manages everything that comes its way with no complains. I only want some more horses for peace of mind.

Hah, we can all use more power tho ;) My Probe GT makes more than my truck, so this will be sure to get a little bit of work done too. It just has to remain reliable. :D

Keep us informed on all the changes you make. Pics are always nice.

Yeah, I'll try to get some pics up tomarrow, thanks for the help! Most people seem to say they have a good run with them. It's good to have a little confidence inspired into you when spend that much money on something. :D

Welcome to the site.. You have a great motor & tranny under your Explorer. There are so many aftermarket parts available for the V8 compared to the V6.. The mileage is great for a 1998.. I would have expected atleast 80K on one by now.. Looks like you lucked out..

Awesome! That's what I wanted to hear, I've done so many damned tranny swaps lately, I don't want to touch another until I'm good and ready. Haha

So do you guys have events and meets every year?
