I recently bought a 99 302 X with 160K miles. The transmission was shifting perfectly until I decide to put some of that foaming engine cleaner on the motor to clean it up a bit (and then gently hosed it off)
The first time I drove it after doing the engine cleaning thing, I noticed that the transmission would hold 3rd gear much longer than it was before. It will eventually go to OD, but there was a noticeable change. I have looked around all under the hood for any connectors that might have come disconnected, but I can't find anything unusual, and the trans fluid level looks good and the fluid itself looks good.
This will happen under very light acceleration, and also when I take off at full throttle! I usually have to let off the gas completely and coast for a bit to 'help' it shift to OD, then all is fine.
I've done a thorough search of related posts on the board but haven't found anything that sounded similar to this problem, any ideas are appreciated!!
