I have been reading and searching the site, but I can not seem to find the answer if a 1999 Ranger 4.0 uses an alignment tool when removing from one engine and installing the cam sensor AND drive assembly into a different engine. I have not had the pleasure of doing this on my 95/96 Rangers or my 96 Explorer yet. I have found the tool for these when needed.
I am installing a reman engine in a friends truck and I want to make sure I get this set correctly. I have been looking around and do not see an alignment tool listed for the 4.0's above 1998. Maybe I am not looking in the right place.
I am unable to get correct positioning from the old engine because it is locked up and I would rather make sure with a new engine.
