Hey there. This stuff just started happening and I am completely at a loss. A while ago, out of the blue, my Auto lamps stopped working. Not a major ordeal, but couldn't quite figure it out. A few days ago, I noticed that the subwoofer to the stereo also stopped. Not blown out, but like it's not even hooked up. In addition, the CD changer doesn't work or the rear fans. It's almost like the have all been disconnected. All of which were working days ago without issue. I have gone through all the fuses and they are fine. Anyone have a clue what might be happening? Any help is appreciated.

I know is not helping but my sub is not working either - could not find a reason why...
I would be interested in this too.

Check the main computer harness, starting at the front of the vehicle in the engine compartment. It wasn't on a Ford, but the last time I lost that many random electrical components, the alternator pulley was spinning through the main computer harness. Your problem probably won't be that drastic, but when you lose components at random, its probably physical damage to wiring.

Has anyone done any work on it around the same time this started? If not, I would start looking under the dash on the drivers side. Check the wire harness connections (where the wires come through the firewall) & check for any wires that may have fallen and been caught/pulled by the brake linkage or someone's foot. You'll need to slide the drivers seat all the way back so you can lay on your back with a light soure and take a really good look. Hope this helps & good luck!!

nothing has been done at all. I literally shut the truck off one day with everything working and hen the next day, it was like is wasn't even connected. Strange. I will look though.

Side note - this is a moron note, but I'll admit it. For some stupid reason, my "rear fan off" was turned on. So the rear fans work, but the CD changer and sub don't. Thanks for the help.

Ok, so we know the cd & sub aren't working. What about the auto lamps? Did you ever get that working??

Come to think of it Schabot, I've got the factory cd for my 2000 EB AWD. I don't know if there was any significant changes done from 99-00? I do know that the cd has a step by step trouble shooting section! If memory serves me, I believe mine has the "Mach" sound system? Let me know what yours is & i'll look it up after work tonight & let you know what it says.

Mine is the Mach system. When I select CDDJ, the stereo says "NO CDDJ". It's like it's not even hooked up.

And the Auto Lamps are still not working.

Doesn't have both "CD" & "CDDJ"?? I know when ever the mrs or my daughter plays a CD, they scroll through the options and stop on CD. Like i said, it's rare that i drive it, but i'm 99% sure that they use CD. Could this be why its not working?

Ok, just text my daughter & she says she has only ever used the "CD" setting and not "CDDJ". Try playing a cd using cd setting and see if it works??

The Mach system has not only a single CD player in the deck, but also a 6 disc changer in the center console called the "CDDJ" when you press the CD button twice. It is strange. It was all working days ago flawlessly.

Hey Schabot. I checked the ford manual and followed the troubleshooting step by step. If all other functions of the radio are working except for the Compact Disc Disc Jockey (CDDJ), then it's either an open wire between the radio/Cd changer/rear integrated control panel or the cd changer is malfuntioning. The audio system does have a self test feature. The ford manual calls it "The speaker walk-around test". It tests every component of the audio system and displays it on the radio face.

As for the auto lamps not working-
Did you check the fuses in the Power Dist Box (under hood) Position 11 & mini-fuse position 12. Pretty sure you already said you checked the fuses, but did you check these 2 under the hood?

Side note on this. THere is power going to the CD changer. I can open and take out the CD holder. It is just bizarre.
